This poem is part of a larger series about the rollercoaster of feelings that come with growing professionally. On days when fear about the future feels overwhelming, I find solace in poetry writing. Putting pen to paper, and expressing those worries has become an unexpectedly cathartic ritual. Little did I know how soothing it could be to give words to the chaos swirling in my mind!

Many a nights I wonder
If this is the way to be
If this is the hard I’m here for
If this is truly my destiny
Where else am I meant to be
What battles I am to fight
Madness, oh so much all around
I see no end in sight
In the midst of this chaos
I tell tales of my past
Both successes and failures
Oh boy, time flies by so fast
I’m calmer, wiser, humbler
Age and learnings did their trick
But with higher ambitions
Fear too did decide to stick

Best, Tehreem
